Lucy & Barry’s Winter Wedding at Clonabreany House

A clear November day, a chill in the air after the snowfall, and Christmas lights waiting to welcome everyone back to Clonabreany House. Lucy and Barry’s wedding had that lovely feeling of winter celebrations beginning—and two people who were determined to enjoy every minute.

They were brilliant craic from the start. Bubbly, full of fun and easy to be around, they brought an energy to the day that carried right through to the dance floor.

A morning full of laughter

There was plenty happening before the ceremony: the finishing touches, a toast together, and even the dog joining in with the preparations. Between the laughter, we made a little room for quiet portraits in the beautiful window light.

The chapel brought everyone together for the vows, the rings and that first kiss as a married couple. Lucy raising her bouquet on the way back up the aisle says plenty about the mood as they headed out to greet their guests.

A Rolls-Royce journey at dusk

One of our favourite parts of the day was the journey from the local chapel back to Clonabreany House.

Lucy and Barry had a beautiful Rolls-Royce, and we filmed them travelling back as the daylight faded. By the time they arrived, the sun had just set and the Christmas lights were on. Against the cold November evening, it made for a particularly lovely welcome.

It’s a moment that works beautifully on film: the car, the changing light and that sense of the evening celebrations just getting started.

A November wedding brings a different rhythm to the photography. Daylight is shorter, and the transition into evening becomes part of the story.

For Lucy and Barry, the crisp weather and Christmas lights gave the day a festive atmosphere without needing anything added. We wanted the photographs and film to hold onto that feeling, alongside all the laughter and moments with their favourite people.

And then there was the dancing.

Lucy danced all night. That probably tells you more about the atmosphere than any carefully written description could. The evening photographs are a lovely reminder that the story doesn’t end with the portraits or the speeches—sometimes the best expressions arrive when everyone has stopped thinking about the camera.
