Garden colour, quiet portraits and a dance floor full of life
Adrian and Tom’s wedding at Martinstown House brought together soft colour, beautiful greenery and a room full of people ready to celebrate them. Their pale suits and floral ties sat so well against the gardens, while the photographs move from quiet moments together to a wonderfully lively party.
There are some lovely contrasts in this collection: an embrace by the window, a portrait beside the campervan, and hands in the air on the dance floor. Together, they tell the story of the day.
Getting ready, together with their people
The preparations were full of small gestures: straightening a tie, pinning a buttonhole and leaning in for a hug. Pale flowers, patterned ties and polished brown shoes gave us plenty of detail to photograph, but the expressions are what make these frames.
There was room for a few individual portraits too, using the window light and doorways before moving on to the ceremony.
A ceremony framed by greenery
The ceremony photographs have a lovely sense of being surrounded by the garden. Foliage frames Adrian and Tom, with their guests gathered beneath the roof and warm lights behind them.
From the readings to their kiss and the raised hands afterwards, the sequence is full of expression. The wide photograph from the back shows everyone gathered together; the closer frames keep our attention on the two of them.
Portraits around Martinstown House
For their portraits, we had the garden paths, green doors and soft window light to work with. Some frames are a little more composed, while others catch Adrian and Tom turning towards each other or sharing a smile.
The campervan and garden swing brought a playful touch. Then we moved closer again for the quieter photographs, including that lovely moment with their foreheads together by the window.
The guests, the speeches and the party
Back with their guests, there were hugs, conversations on the lawn and a big group photograph outside the house. The pastel flowers carried through to the tables and cake, bringing the same soft colour into the reception photographs.
The speeches gave us laughter and a few more thoughtful reactions before the dancing took over. Under the draped ceiling, Adrian and Tom were surrounded by their guests, with plenty of hands in the air and some brilliant dance-floor expressions.
