Boyne Hill House Wedding Photography & Film

Relaxed, natural storytelling at one of County Meath’s most beautiful private estates.

There is an easy rhythm to a wedding at Boyne Hill House.

From the excitement of getting ready in the Georgian Manor House to the ceremony, drinks reception and evening celebrations, everything can unfold within the estate. That means less travelling, fewer interruptions and more time spent enjoying the day with the people who matter most.

Surrounded by mature gardens and natural parkland overlooking the Boyne River, the estate gives us an incredible variety of settings for photography and film—without needing to turn your wedding into an all-day photoshoot.

Our approach is simple: capture the day honestly as it happens, offer a little direction whenever you need it and create photographs and films that bring you straight back to how everything felt.

Weddings at Boyne Hill House Estate

Boyne Hill House is a private country-house wedding venue set within 38 acres of gardens and parkland near Navan in County Meath.

The sweeping tree-lined driveway leads to the Georgian Manor House, where the wedding party can prepare for the day in beautiful, character-filled surroundings. Having the preparations, ceremony and reception together at the estate helps the morning feel calmer and allows the story of the wedding to flow naturally from one moment into the next.

Couples can choose between two distinctive ceremony settings.

The Secret Garden is a beautiful option for an outdoor ceremony, surrounded by greenery within the Victorian walled garden. The Conservatory provides an atmospheric indoor setting, with exposed stone walls, soft natural light and a warm, intimate feeling throughout the year.

After the ceremony, the gardens and Manor House give guests somewhere to relax and enjoy the drinks reception while we capture the congratulations, conversations and little moments happening naturally around you.

Later, celebrations move into the Boyne View Banqueting Suite for dinner and speeches before the evening continues in the Blushing Groom Bar and on the dance floor.

The greatest advantage is that everything is close together. The wedding never needs to disappear for photographs, and you don’t lose an hour of the drinks reception travelling to another location.

Relaxed Wedding Photography at Boyne Hill House

The grounds at Boyne Hill House offer plenty of variety, but that doesn’t mean we need to drag you around every corner of the estate.

We’ll choose locations around the light, weather and natural flow of your day. Depending on the season, that might include the gardens, tree-lined avenue, pathways around the Manor House or a few quieter areas away from the drinks reception.

Our couple portraits are relaxed and lightly directed. You won’t be expected to arrive knowing what to do, and you won’t spend hours posing for the camera.

We’ll normally take you away for one short portrait session during the drinks reception, then perhaps step outside again for ten minutes later if the evening light is especially beautiful.

Family photographs are organised efficiently, with a prepared list and somebody who knows the guests helping us gather everyone together. Once those important photographs are complete, you can return to the celebration while we continue capturing the day naturally.

The result is a balanced collection: beautiful portraits, the family photographs that matter and all the genuine moments you didn’t even realise were happening.

Photography & Film — One Team, One Story

When you book photography and film together, we work as one small, coordinated team.

That matters at a venue like Boyne Hill House, where so much of the atmosphere comes from the movement, sound and energy surrounding the day.

Photography preserves the individual moments: an expression during the ceremony, a hand being held beneath the table, the reactions during the speeches and the portraits that will eventually live in your album.

Film brings back the voices, movement and feeling around those moments—the nerves before the ceremony, the vows, the laughter during the speeches and the energy of the dance floor.

Because we work together every week, you won’t have two separate teams directing the same moments or competing for space. We plan the coverage together, work quietly around one another and give you one consistent, relaxed experience.

One team. One approach. One complete story.

A Relaxed Boyne Hill House Wedding Timeline

Every wedding is different, but a comfortable Boyne Hill timeline could look something like this:

Morning Preparations

We begin with the atmosphere of the morning, details, outfits and the people getting ready with you. We’ll also photograph and film the estate before guests begin arriving.

The Ceremony

Whether you choose the Secret Garden or Conservatory, we capture the ceremony naturally and unobtrusively—including the anticipation beforehand and the celebrations immediately afterwards.

Confetti & Congratulations

There’s no need to rush straight into photographs. Enjoy the hugs, congratulations and the first few minutes of being married.

Drinks Reception

This is normally the ideal time for family photographs and a short couple session. The rest of the reception is documented naturally while you spend time with your guests.

Dinner & Speeches

We’ll capture the entrance, room details, reactions and all the laughter and emotion during the speeches.

Evening Portraits

If the light is beautiful, we may suggest stepping outside for another ten minutes. This short evening session often creates some of the most atmospheric photographs of the day.

First Dance & Celebrations

Once the music begins, we capture the first dance and the energy of the dance floor before leaving you to continue the party.

The timings can be adjusted around the season, ceremony time and the experience you want. The aim is never to squeeze your wedding into a photography schedule—it’s to create a schedule that lets you enjoy it.

Boyne Hill House Wedding Photography FAQs

FAQ

Have you photographed weddings at Boyne Hill House before?

Yes. Knowing how the estate flows helps us plan photography and film around the wedding rather than interrupting it. We understand how the preparation spaces, ceremony locations, gardens and reception areas work together throughout the day.

How much time should we allow for couple photographs?

We normally recommend around 20–30 minutes during the drinks reception, rather than disappearing for a long portrait session. If the evening light is particularly beautiful, we may suggest stepping outside again for another ten minutes later in the day.

What happens if it rains on our wedding day?

Rain doesn’t mean losing all your photographs. Boyne Hill House has characterful interiors and the Conservatory provides a beautiful indoor option. We’ll work around breaks in the weather and adapt the portrait locations without allowing the forecast to take over your day.

Can you cover both partners getting ready?

Yes. With photography and film coverage, we can plan the morning around both sets of preparations. Because everything can happen within the estate, equal coverage is often much easier than when preparations are taking place at different locations.

Do you provide both photography and wedding film?

Yes. McGlade Photography & Film provides combined photography and cinematic wedding-film coverage with one coordinated team. Photography-only and Photography with Next Day Edit collections are also available.
